let's try this again!

I am the worst blogger in the world.  There, I said it.  I honestly just haven't had the time. BUT I have recently decided that I want need to find make the time.  I want to start using this as a way to remember our normal day-to-day lives.  So, I am going to attempt to start blogging again.  Bare with me, it may be a slow process!!

Happy Fall!

Fall is my favorite time of year! I love the weather. I love the smells. I love a pumpkin spice latte from starbucks and apple cider. Fall means time for my birthday and anniversary.

My mom wanted Hudson to love fall too so she bought him a few "fall" items.  One of her friends from high school made him a pumpkin hat and an owl hat...he looks so cute in both!!  She got him a scarecrow, a twirly pumpkin thing, and a pumpkin with an "H" on it.  I think he likes them all!  He stared at the scarecrow for the longest time.  I love how he is taking every thing in and exploring everything {{by sticking it in his mouth! ha!}}.

Saturday we took a little family trip to the pumpkin patch to get a few pictures. Every time we bring the camera out, he gets a blank look on his face!  It is so hard to get him to laugh while we take pictures!

My sweet boy is growing up so fast. He sleeps about 12 hours every night. He is eating cereal every morning and veggies and fruit at night. Today he sat up for a few seconds by himself!! This is a huge accomplishment because every one always talks about how laid back he is....so laid back that he has no desire to do much of anything! ha! He hasn't rolled over yet and he hasn't been very interested in sitting until today. He is perfectly content to sit in his high chair or bouncy seat and watch what is going on.

Our anniversary was October 3rd. We had plans to go to a murder mystery dinner {{not very romantic, but we thought it would be fun!}}. The theme was masquerade ball. We pulled up to a somewhat sketchy restaurant with a few men (and their pit bulls) hanging out in the parking lot, keeping warm by drinking something in a brown paper bag. But once we got in, we realized we didn't pay for the food or nice restuarant, we paid for the experience! And it was definitely worth it!

This weekend we have a wedding on Saturday and I have a baby shower on Sunday!  This is always such a busy time of year so that makes me enjoy every minute I get to spend with my two guys!

I cannot believe Hudson is already 5 months old! It seems like I was just looking at his sweet little face for the first time. Hudson has such a sweet spirit and is so laid back. I could not ask for a better baby. Instead of trying to recap the past few months, I will show you in pictures....

I will be a better blogger

One day I will be a better blogger, but it is so hard with a 12 week old and a full time job!  It is so hard to believe my little guy will be 3 months next week.  He is growing too fast!!  He is such a good baby {{and I'm not just saying that because he's mine!}}.  For his 2 month birthday, he had a great gift for mommy and daddy....sleeping through the night!!  Yes, you read that correctly, at 2 months, my little man started sleeping all night long.  He now sleeps about 10 hours every night.  It is amazing to not have to get up all through the night!  I wake up feeling refreshed in the morning.  Three weeks ago, he rolled over {{OH.MY.GOODNESS.}}.  We were having our "tummy time" when he accidently rolled from his tummy to his back.  I jumped up (scaring the daylights out of him) and ran to get the camera.  Of course, he didn't do it again and he hasn't since then!  Oh well, next time I will get a video and picture!  He smiles a lot and "oooos" and "ahhhs".  I love it!  Sometimes, when he is "talking" he gets a very serious look on his face like he believes what he's saying is important.  He eats about every 3 hours {about 5 times a day}, plays, and then naps for about an hour...then it's time to start all over again!  When he was about 3 weeks old, I read a book called "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" by Tracy Hogg and decided I liked the idea of a flexible schedule so that's what we've been following.  I have also asked other new moms millions of questions.  Ha!  It is so great to have people to talk to and get advice from! 

When Hudson was 8 weeks old, a friend of mine came to take pictures of my sweet boy  {we actually set up a package where she will come take pictures of him every three months!}}.  I thought she did a great job!

Oh, how I love that sweet little face!!

Hudson's 2 week photoshoot

Lucy Parker came when Hudson was two weeks old to do a little photo shoot.  I have known Lucy since we were little girls and when I was looking for a photographer for my wedding she was starting her photography business.  After talking to her, I knew she would be the perfect person to capture this time in our lives!  We were one of Lucy's first weddings and she did an amazing job!

When Hudson was two weeks old, she came over to take a few pictures of my little man.  I am so in love...
